Engagement Photoshoot | Chloe & Yao | Bouddi Nationalpark

In the footsteps of love

It was a beautiful but incredibly hot and humid spring afternoon when I met with Chloe and Yao in Bensville at Chloe’s childhood property, the place where they will tie the knot amongst their closest friends and family, later on this year.

Yao grew up in Wollongong but their paths met when they both started working at the same hospital, Chloe as a nurse and Yao as clinical physician.
They fell in love, moved in together and the rest is history.  A year ago, they have welcomed little Isaac into their world and decided it is time to make their love official.

So our engagement session started off on the property with little Isaac, the happiest little vegemite that I have ever had the pleasure to photograph. He kept giggling away while were were placing him on cars, dressing him in hats and throwing him up into the air. I can’t wait to see him in his little page boy outfit, walking down the aisle, on his Mum and Dad’s wedding day.

Chloe’s Dad is a car-lover and he is the proud owner of this gorgeous old ute from the 1950’s – what a perfect wedding car! He is cleaning and polishing it on a weekly basis, in anticipation of the big day in March. So why not bring it out for the engagement photoshoot to give us a little look and make it part of the afternoon. As soon as I saw it, I knew I would have to get a shot from the air with Chloe and Yao lying in the back of it. I love when things all come together so perfectly.

Slowly the afternoon turned into the evening, and it was time to move on to our main shoot location at Boxhead. It is located only minutes away from Kincumber, in the middle of Bouddi National Park. Chloe has never been there, until the day I took them to their shoot. I couldn’t believe it and got even more excited about the fact that I could introduce them to this magical part of her childhood backyard.

I loved every minute we got to spend up there together. Chloe & Yao were absolute champions in trusting me with my crazy ideas, happily jumping over rocks, strolling through the bushland and running across dirt roads without a care about getting dirty or messing up their hair. My favourite kind of clients. And the outcome, in my humble opinion, shows exactly this: a natural, relaxed and absolutely beautiful couple in love.
